HAPPY SPRING EVERYONE! The sun has come out shining and has quickly been replaced by some seriously crazy weather! Last night, as I was walking home in the “thick” of NYC’s sleet storm, I could not prevent myself from laughing! Smiling ear to ear, I was having quite the hearty chuckle! I certainly received some strange looks as everyone else was rushing home to hibernate from the crazy weather, but no not me! I took the opportunity to be grateful for that moment (whatever craziness it was). I had just been given some amazing news and was in a great mood! I allowed my heighten level of joy to transcend the moment and in doing so was able to see the beauty in it! There is beauty in every moment. It all just depends on how we choose to look at it! So with that in mind I found the humor, beauty and joy in NYC’s little “melt-down” storm! I mean how often do you get to walk through a full-blown ice storm in the beginning of Spring? I am so grateful for last night and the opportunity to practice another beautiful life lesson. I shared this story in hopes of inspiring everyone to see the beauty in a not so obvious situation. See how you can positively change your perception of any “less than par” moment to add a positive twist to your day or your reality!

With the arrival of SPRING I know everyone is dusting off those running shoes, swimsuits, bikes, yoga mats and whatever your athletic gear of choice is!! So, in honor of “SPRING TRAINING” here is a fabulous Anti-Inflammatory Superfood Smoothie to make recovery that much “sunnier!”
ANTI-INFLAMMATORY “SPRING” SUPERFOOD SMOOTHIE
10 ounces of coconut water (all ingredients organic if possible)
2 tbsp of hemp seeds (bio-available protein & anti-inflammatory, these hemp seeds are super yummy)
1 tsp of turmeric powder, or fresh is always better (wonderful anti-inflammatory agent)
1 cup of fresh pineapple (contains bromelain, a proteolytic enzyme & natural anti-inflammatory)
1 tbsp of Chia Seeds (complete protein for stamina & endurance, I use VIVAPURA’s)
1 tbsp of quality, Raw, Organic Coconut Oil (I use Ultimate’s Coconut Oil!)
1 tsp of MSM powder (make sure to get a good, clean source like from Ultimate Superfoods)
2 cups of Organic Frozen Berries (my favorites are raspberries & blueberries)
Optional: Sweetner of choice: banana, tbsp of raw, wild honey, stevia leaf green powder (my personal favorite), “stevia leaf” liquid, etc.
